Ambode Opens Office of Overseas Affairs and Investment

The Lagos State government said it is set for a phenomenal change with the unveiling of the Office of Overseas Affairs and Investment,  known as Lagos Global, by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.
The Office is a one-stop shop designed to enhance ease of doing business in Lagos State. The initiative is in line with the commitment of the Ambode’s administration to make Lagos an investment destination of choice, by creating a favorable environment for local and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) to thrive, he added.

North-East youths slam Fayose over comment on Chibok girls

Youths from the North-Eastern part of the country , under the aegis of, North-East Youth Peace Development and Empowerment Initiative (NEYPDI) have criticised Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State over his recent comment that no schoolgirl was abducted in Chibok, Borno State.



Why We Can’t Stop Blaming PDP for Economic Woes, Says APC


The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that the reason it will not stop blaming the Peoples Democratic Parties for the nation’s economic woes is because of the overwhelming impact of its misdeeds in the past 16 years.
The National Chairman of the PDP, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, had on Wednesday asked APC and the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to stop blaming the opposition party for its failure to arrest the economic crisis which is presenting suffocating the citizenry.

APC Reads Riot Act on Use of Social Media


The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ondo State, Mr Isaacs Kekemeke, on Wednesday read the riot act to members of the party and supporters of various gubernatorial aspirants to desist from using social media platforms to abuse leaders and other stakeholders of the party or face the wrath of the organisation.

Ntel to launch LTE services this week

Nigerian telco Ntel has announced plans for its own LTE network. Lagos and Abuja will be covered first.
Ntel stated that it will be launching a 4G network covering Lagos and Abuja, which will go live this Friday. Ntel plans to widen network coverage as soon as these two cities’ networks are completed.
The new network needs the approval of the Nigerian telecoms regulator, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), however this is not seen as a problem and Ntel expects permission in the next few days.

Fuel Scarcity Cripples NSE's Trading Activities

The lingering scarcity of petrol, which has brought virtually every human activity to a standstill in every part of Lagos, has also affected trading activities at the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), where trading on stocks and bonds has recorded an unprecedented poor attendance since the beginning of the week.
The poor performance of the market on Monday was attributed to the inability of many stockbrokers to be physically present in the market. And as a result, equity transactions on the NSE re-opened for the week on a downturn, causing the market capitalisation to depreciate by N54 billion on Monday.
