Nollywood actress Toyin Aimakhu, 31, has announced that she is embarking on a project to appreciate mothers.
The movie star has started a programme to celebrate mothers who gave their all to their kids. Toyin Aimakhu made this known on her Instagram page today (January 28).

Gambia's President Yahya Jammeh fired three government ministers in a department reshuffle on Wednesday, according to a statement, another unexpected turn for the tiny West Africancountry.
Minister of Fisheries Lamin Nyabally, Energy Minister Edward Sanneh and Minister of Presidential Affairs Yam Keita were all released from their posts after some departments were merged, the state house communique said.

The Commissioner of Health Dr. Theophillus Odagme, while speaking to newsmen said the purpose of the emergency initiative as to raise awareness on the disease and also inform residents of the needs to keep rats away from their homes.

Suicide bombers kill 13 in Chibok, hometown of Nigeria’s kidnapped girls

Residents blamed Boko Haram for the attacks, the Islamic extremist group that kidnapped nearly 300 Chibok schoolgirls in April 2014.

Five female suicide bombers exploded at a market in the Chibok hometown of Nigeria’s kidnapped schoolgirls on Wednesday, killing 13 civilians and wounding 32 people, witnesses said.
Soldiers were searching the northeastern town late Wednesday for two other women seen with the bombers and also suspected to be strapped with explosives, according to teacher Emmanuel Cosmos.

The Supreme has upheld the election of Nyesom Wike of the Peoples Democratic Party as governor of the oil-rich Rivers State.
The court gave the ruling Wednesday but did not provide reasons for its judgment.
It said detailed reasons for the verdict would be provided on February 12.

Oil rises above $30 on hopes of deal to tackle glut

Oil rose further above $30 a barrel on Tuesday on hopes that OPEC and non-OPEC producers may reach deal to tackle one of the biggest supply gluts in decades.
The Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries is making renewed calls for rival producers to cut supply alongside its members. Russia, seen as key to any deal, has so far refused to cooperate.
