Buhari ordered merging of sports ministry, NSC – Minister

President Muhammadu Buhari gave the directive for the merger of the National Sports Commission with the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, the minister in charge, Mr. Solomon Dalung has said. Dalung said this when he received a team from the Bureau of Public Enterprises led by Acting Director General, Dr. Vincent Akpotaire, according to a statement made available to our correspondent by Head of Public Communications at BPE, Mr. Alex Okoh, in Abuja on Wednesday.

The IMF is not Happy with Nigeria

As Nigeria’s economic challenges are rising, the IMF has been increasingly vocal. What is really needed are policies that are in the interest of most Nigerians.

According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Nigeria’s external challenges are substantial and deteriorating. Due to the reliance on oil revenues, the general government deficit doubled to 3.3 percent of the GDP in 2015. Meanwhile, exports plunged 40 percent, which caused the current account deficit to climb to 2.4 percent of GDP.
